Gary Vansuch is Director of Process Improvement for the Colorado Department of Transportation (also known as "CDOT"). He directs efforts to improve the organization's operations, focused on making government more effective, efficient and elegant. He has over 30 years of business improvement and change leadership experience in the energy, financial services, research and government services sectors. Gary is a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and a Certified Change Management Practitioner. Additionally, Gary served 6 years with the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award program, including 4 years as a Senior Examiner and as a member of the national Case Study Development Team. He has also been a Judge for the International Team Excellence Awards, and a Judge for the RIT / USA Quality Cup competition for improvement teams.

CDOT's process improvement initiative has received national recognition, including designation as a "Bright Idea in Government" from the Innovations in American Government Awards program, which is administered by the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University; and, as a winner of the 2017 North American Employee Engagement Award.

Michelle Malloy wears many hats at the Colorado Department of Transportation. Michelle is the Senior Program Manager for Strategy & Change Management Services, a Lean Leader, the Statewide Lead for CDOT’s Change Agent Network and she spends a great deal of time working on internal Strategy. Michelle facilitates multiple projects and teams throughout the organization in an effort to save lives and make people’s lives better. Michelle comes from a diverse background with an undergraduate degree in Education from UNM and an MBA from the Hassan School of Business at CSU-P.

Michelle has worked at CDOT for nearly 10 years and has had the unique opportunity to work in a wide variety of business areas, departments, groups and teams and with many exceptional people throughout the state and beyond. Michelle's overall objective is to be the best steward leader possible, ensuring that everyone and everything left in her care is nurtured and developed to provide the best value and service to the citizens of the state of Colorado today and into the future.

Geneva Hooten, AICP serves as CDOT's Innovation and Improvement Lead and Lean Everyday Ideas program manager. She brings nearly a decade of experience in the transportation field and tactical experience in conducting process improvement projects. Prior to joining CDOT, Geneva worked as a transportation planner, helping to develop dozens of multimodal plans and conceptual designs in Colorado, Utah, and Oregon. At CDOT, she works to engage all staff, though especially those on the front line, to improve their work through innovation and process improvement. Geneva graduated cum laude from Willamette University with a degree in economics and became a certified planner in 2015.

Roxane Olvera was born and raised in Denver, CO. She started my career with the state of Colorado in January 1999 with the Department of Revenue - Motor Vehicle. She was with the Department of Revenue for a year and a half and transferred to the Colorado Department of Transportation in 2000 to the Office of Policy and Government Relations, where she worked 6 years. In 2006, the Center for Equal Opportunity which is now known as Civil Rights & Business Resource Center had an open position, she applied and worked 8 years for the department. In 2014, Gary Vansuch, Director of the Office of Process Improvement needed an assistant and here she is today. She has been with the state for 19 years and 3 months......time sure flies when your working hard....oh and throw some fun in there.
