Hydraulics

When is this applicable for your project?

Construction projects will always need the expertise and input from Hydraulics staff to ensure that water flow is correctly addressed and handled in your project's design. This includes general floodplain analysis and hydrology, storm sewer, and water quality facilities.

What are the Roles and Responsibilities in this arena?

The Project Manager needs to communicate the initial scope of the project to the Hydraulics group, including anything that may impact water flows. The Hydraulics group will then need to analyze your project area, determine the hydraulic needs, and summarize these in a report. The items that are required by this analysis need to be incorporated in the scope.

Red Flags:

Not communicating the complete scope of items that could impact water flow, including interim and final flows.
