Mt. Evans Highway Closes for Season Next Week

October 1, 2010 - CLEAR CREEK COUNTY – Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is closing the lower portion of the Mount Evans Highway (State Highway 5) – between Echo Lake and Summit Lake – for the season on Monday, October 4.

CDOT’S Northwest Region Names New Traffic & Safety Engineer

October 4, 2010 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - Zane Znamenacek was recently appointed to the position of Traffic and Safety Program Engineer for the Colorado Department of Transportation’s northwest region (Region 3). Znamenacek has been the Operations Engineer for CDOT’s Traffic Office for the past two years.

CDOT Critical Culvert Repair on US 40, SH 13

October 4, 2010 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - MOFFAT COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation has a second project underway to replace critical culverts under several highways in its northwest region. Work is underway through November 19, 2010, to replace steel pipe structures on US 40 west of Elk Springs and on SH 13 just north of Craig. Tricon 2, LLC, of Castle Rock was awarded this project for $684,000.

Reducing the Risk of Rockfall on SH 145 Norwood Hill

October 5, 2010 - PROJECT UPDATE – HOLIDAY WORK SUSPENSION - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - SAN MIGUEL COUNTY – Work is progressing well on the Colorado Department of Transportation’s rockfall mitigation project on SH 145 on Norwood Hill.

Twin Creek Bridge Project Starts Tomorrow on US 24

October 6, 2010 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - DETOUR VIA COUNTY ROADS REQUIRED - TELLER COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) begins replacing the Twin Creek Bridge on U.S. 24, about one mile east of Florissant, on Thursday, October 7.

Advanced Planning Essential for Air Force Academy Game

October 7, 2010 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - DOUGLAS/EL PASO COUNTIES – If you are attending this Saturday’s football game at the Air Force Academy, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is advising drivers to add plenty of additional travel time to get to Falcon Stadium in time for kickoff at noon.
