Kudos for R5 ROW Employee Travis Fischer

When CDOT employees work with citizens on the issue of land acquisition, there is always plenty of opportunity for disagreement.

That's why it was great for CDOT Chief Engineer Tim Harris to receive a kudo from Andre and Annita Bens of Mansfield Texas, about their experiences working with Region 5 employee Travis Fischer (General Professional II, Region 5 Program Engineering/Right of Way) when CDOT needed to acquire a small part of their property along U.S. 160 in Archuleta County.

"We were very impressed with Travis' real hands-on approach and communications through constant e-mail and telephone feedback.  The transaction went really smooth, even though we reside in Texas.  Travis is dedicated and devoted to the task at hand - a good communicator, excellent in follow-up and follow-through, and has a pleasant personality in addition to being a hard worker," Andre Bens wrote.

"It was a pleasure working with CDOT on this project, and especially with Travis Fischer," Mr. Bens concluded.

Fischer, who is a temporary employee nearing the end of his six-month term of employment, said the feeling was mutual.  "They were enjoyable to work with," he said.  "When the project was finished, I thanked them."

That's how excellent working relationships are built.
