Motorist Appreciates Courtesy Patrol Help

Mike from Denver e-mailed CDOT to relate the story of what happened to him when his vehicle had transmission problems on I-70 in the middle of a snowstorm on Monday, Jan. 16, which was Martin Luther King, Jr., Day.

He wrote, "My Jeep's transmission problems forced me to exit at Georgetown.  Two tow truck drivers who were waiting for CDOT calls gave me advice on how I could repair it well enough so that I could continue to drive it.  These two wonerful guys really bailed me out of a tough situation.  I just wanted CDOT to know how generous and helpful they were to me and my family.  Many, many thanks to them."

CDOT's Region 1 Traffic & Safety Section coordinates the Courtesy Patrol program that operates along the I-70 mountain corridor on peak recreation travel weekends and holidays throughout the year with a goal of assisting motorists and moving stalls and breakdowns rapidly in order to help keep traffic moving along the busy freeway.
