Tunnels Help Appreciated During Long Breakdown

Karla Mayne of Conifer was traveling westbound along I-70 on Friday evening, July 20, when her vehicle broke down at the east portal of the Eisenhower Tunnel.  Kolleen White (TM-I, Eisenhower-Johnson Tunnels Maintenance Section 9, Region 1), who was on duty as the tunnels east portal attendant at the time, immediately made contact with Mayne, who wrote:

"I would like to send kudos and a big thank you to Kolleen White.  I had my three horses with me and Kolleen was professional, courteous, and extremely helpful throughout the five hours I was stranded there. She was a great help in a very stressful situation, even going so far as to share the apple from her lunch with my horses. Thanks to Kolleen for being such a great representative of CDOT and the management team at Eisenhower Tunnel!"
