Off Duty Employee Assistance Appreciated

Randy Breece (TM-I at Hanging Lake Tunnels, Grand Junction Maintenance Section 2, Region 3) was off duty on Saturday, Feb. 16.  He was into the local Wal-Mart SuperCenter in Rifle when he noticed a Rifle-area citizen, Laci Anderson, whose mother had fallen in the parking lot and was having a difficult time getting up again.

Anderson wrote, "Randy came over and asked if there was anything he could do to help and was so nice in helping me get my mom back on her feet and making sure she was okay."  She said Breece asked several times if everyone was okay.  "He really seemed to care about her health and really wanted to make sure she was okay," Anderson wrote.  She said she offered to pay him for his assistance, but he declined.

"It is so wonderful to know that there are employees out there who are kind and caring even when they are not at work," Anderson added.  "I hope that CDOT makes sure you keep those kinds of employees to help look out after our state."
