US 36 Reconstruction: "Wonderful Job"

Mike Hotka, who lives in Broomfield, e-mailed the CDOT website early on the morning of Aug. 26 to say:

"Last evening, I drove on US 36 between Estes Park and Lyons for the first time since the last September floods. I must say that you are doing a wonderful job putting that road back together. I had heard that the damage was significant, but driving it and seeing it for myself was beyond belief. Mother Nature did a number on many sections of that road.

"I really want to thank you and your people for fixing this road. The task was monumental, yet I can see the tremendous work and effort that has been done to make this road passable. From what I saw, you all are making the impossible, possible.

"Please thank all those involved in fixing this road. I, for one, am very thankful for what is being done up there."
