Lots of CDOT Help in SW Colorado

Sharon, who along with Wes works at the Mancos Bus Garage, wrote the following to Richard Tokar, TM-III at Cortez for Durango Maintenance Section 3, Region 5.:

"I want to pass along a HUGE THANK-YOU to your and your guys for all you do.

"A special thanks and appreciation to two guys in Rico (I don't know their names) who chained up our ski bus going to Telluride on Sunday.  She stopped in Rico and they came and offered to help.  She was very grateful.  Last night I(Sharon) was returning from Ouray and of course conditions were getting bad with the wind.  I broke a wiper near Sawpit.  "Darryl" stopped in his plow to see if we needed help.

"Long story short, he took a wiper off his truck and put on our bus so we could keep going.  I asked how Lizard Head was and he said I probably didn't want to go up there, that a truck was blocking the highway.  After fixing the wiper he called the guys up there to see how it was looking and they advised us to turn around and come through Norwood.  Darryl then checked to see what the conditions were going around that way.  We were told Norwood hill and the rest of the highway was sanded and fine, and it was.

"He called ahead to Toney Buffington in Dove Creek to see what that area was like.  He said Slick Rock was bad and he would meet us there.  He met us on Slick Rock and led us into Dove Creek.  These gentlemen deserve a great big thank-you.  They were very professional and kept a long night from  being even longer.

"Again, we appreciate everything you guys do!!"
