2019-2020 Events

    • International Walk to School Day is Wednesday, Oct. 7! In other years, we would anticipate schools from all 50 states and more than 40 countries to organize students, parents, and school staff to highlight, promote and celebrate the importance of green, active transportation. This year, things will look a little different. Are you interested in tips for celebrating Walk to School Day, and the Colorado Pedestrian Month, in ways that work for your family and your community? Visit WalkBiketoSchool.org to register as an individual, family, or school, as well as for creative ideas to celebrate. Also be sure to check out our Covid Resources page for an ongoing compilation of tips resources for supporting safe routes to school during this unusual time.

    • Walktober Poster Contest! October is Colorado Pedestrian Month, and what a beautiful time to get out and enjoy Colorado’s natural beauty on foot. In celebration of Walktober, we’d like to invite all students, preschool through grade eight, to participate in a state-wide poster contest. What makes walking special to you right now? Showcase what you and your family enjoy most on foot. Or, show us what you would like your Future in Motion in Colorado to look like! Where will you go? What might you explore? To get started, print out the Walktober Poster Contest template from our website. Email your entry to [email protected] anytime before Friday, October 23. Winning submissions will be shared in a special newsletter and featured on our website.
