  • 8 p.m. - 5:30 a.m. Tuesday - Thursday: Eastbound I-70 closed at Washington Street (mile point 274.5) as crews install hydraulic jacks to life and replace bridge components
    • To eastbound I-70: Take the off-ramp to bypass the closure, then take the on-ramp after Washington Street.
    • To northbound Washington Street: Take Brighton Boulevard, and continue on 44th Street and E 47th Avenue.
    • To southbound Washington Street: Take E. 47th Avenue toward 44th Street and Brighton Boulevard.
    • Semi-truck drivers on southbound Washington Street: Take westbound I-70, exit at Pecos Street, then get onto eastbound I-70 to reach Washington Street.

In February 2019, crews began repairing nine bridges in Denver, Adams, Jefferson, and Clear Creek counties. Work includes:

  • repairing bridge bearings;
  • repairing abutments and rails;
  • sandblasting;
  • painting and sealing;
  • repairing paved slopes;
  • removing debris;
  • repairing anchor bolts and spalls;
  • reinforcing embankments; and
  • providing new access points to girders after removing trash and organic waste.
