I-25 and Arapahoe Road Bridge Replacement

Despite recent media reports indicating the I-25 and Arapahoe Road Interchange Reconstruction project will finish early, completion is still scheduled for summer 2018.

This project will:

  • design and replace the existing I-25 bridge over Arapahoe Road;
  • improve the interchange complex to reduce congestion; and
  • improve traffic operations and safety.

CDOT contracted with the David Evans and Associates/Hartwig & Associates team to complete the project design, and selected Kraemer North America as the general contractor.

In early 2014, field work was completed to gather detailed data. This included traffic counts, survey, geotechnical borings and utility locates.  Preliminary design plans were completed in February 2015. Ninety percent of the design was completed in October 2015. Final design completed the end of 2015. Construction began in May 2016 and will be substantially completed by summer 2018. Find more schedule information.

Federal and local entities are funding this $66 million project. See funding details.
