US 36 2012 Reevaluation
Project Status: Complete
The US 36 Express Lanes Project design has been refined to include more details related to drainage design, water quality and detention ponds, the bikeway, culverts, the ingress and egress to the managed lane, the design of the median barrier, and noise and retaining walls. There have been changed conditions , including the addition of the 112th Avenue/Old Wadsworth bridge replacement and approach roads, new adjacent property development, new wetlands, and new hazardous materials sites.
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and CDOT have re-evaluated the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) in light of the new information discovered and developed since the Record of Decision (ROD) in order to determine if additional National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation is required. The re-evaluation analyzed both the changes in the environmental setting (new adjacent property development, new wetlands, and new hazardous materials sites, etc.), as well as changes to the proposed action and the effect those will have on various environmental resources. Based on the re-evaluation, FHWA and CDOT have concluded that the original environmental designation remains valid for the proposed action.
