Lowell/Perry Off Ramp from Westbound US 6 Closing

Lowell/Perry off-ramp from westbound US 6 closing temporarily starting Monday, Sept. 8

What

The Lowell Boulevard and Perry Street off-ramp from westbound US 6 is closing for about three months.

When
This temporary ramp closure will go into effect the morning of Monday, Sept. 8.

Why
Crews need to close this off-ramp to safely complete work along the north side (westbound lanes) of US 6. Work to be done in this area includes widening the highway corridor to accommodate a ramp lane adjacent to the westbound lanes of US 6, and repaving and restriping the north half of US 6.

Detour

While this off-ramp is closed, westbound US 6 drivers can exit at either Federal Boulevard or Sheridan Boulevard to access the neighborhood on the north side of the highway.

Other Details

Following an extensive public outreach process earlier this year, the Colorado Department of Transportation has decided to keep this off-ramp open after completing the US 6 Bridges Design Build Project. When this project is done in the fall of 2015, people traveling west on US 6 who want to use the Lowell/Perry off-ramp will need to exit further east near the Platte River and follow the extended ramp lane that will parallel the highway (see graphic below indicating ramp to collector-distributor or CD Road).

Because this temporary off-ramp closure and other ongoing construction activities could impact your travels along US 6, you might want to look into alternative transportation modes.
