Crews on this roadway improvement project are extending the life of Colorado Highway 142 by applying protective coating to a 34-mile stretch of highway, from the Town of Romeo to the Town of San Luis. Originally scheduled to begin in late summer 2017, this work has been postponed until spring 2018.

Work will be completed from one intersection—CO 285 and CO 142 in Romeo—to another—CO 159 and CO 142 in San Luis.

  • Note that closures will not exceed two miles at any given time.
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 40 mph through the work zone. Traffic fines in the construction zone will be doubled.
  • There will be a 10-foot width restriction.
