CO 340 Bike/Pedestrian Improvements

In May, crews on this project started moving vegetation on Colorado Highway 340 between Kansas Avenue and Grande Vista Drive, west of Grand Junction, to make way for a bicycle and pedestrian path.

This work will further improve bicyclist and pedestrian access, and interconnectivity in the area.

The project team will build a five-foot-wide concrete path, landscape, add fencing, restore the site and seed, and complete curb-and-gutter and culvert work.


Normal working hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work is expected to be complete in October 2018.

Travel Impacts

  • Through October 2018
    Expect a westbound shoulder closure with possible eastbound and westbound one-lane alternating traffic.
