I-25 from Denver to the Wyoming State Line: Intelligent Transportation System installation

This $5 million project will upgrade this stretch of highway with the following:

  • highway cameras
  • weather stations
  • fiber optic cable
  • traffic detection system
  • ethernet conversion of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) networks

Work is scheduled to be completed during daytime hours, Monday - Friday, through May 2016.

There are critical gaps within the ITS system that impede our ability to effectively manage incidents and traffic along both corridors. Adding cameras, weather stations, traffic detectors, and a robust and secure network will help us close gaps for effective incident management and traveler information in this corridor.
