Stakeholder Working Group Meeting, February 13, 2012

At a four-hour meeting in February, the 29 Stakeholder Working Group (SWG) participants learned about the alternatives that the consultants had come up with and their recommendations regarding the first level of screening. Because the alternatives were in the early stages of development, they were intentionally kept to broad alignments and elements of the bridge’s cross-section (lanes, shoulders, etc.). They included alignments that “touched down” at various locations within the project area on both the south and north side of the river. Alternatives included both single bridge and paired (couplet) alignments that start on Grand, Colorado and Cooper on the south side and land at the Pine, Maple, Laurel or I-70 intersections on the north side.

After learning about the decision process and alternatives, the SWG broke into small groups and discussed issues that could be used to compare the alternative alignments. This input will be incorporated into the Measures of Effectiveness that will be used in the second and third levels of screening of the alternatives evaluation process.

The public is invited to submit comments to the study team through this website or directly to CDOT Project Manager, Joe Elsen at [email protected].
