Weekly Construction Update

  • Crews have striped the shoulder of northbound CO 82 from Buffalo Valley to approximately 27th Street to accommodate a third lane for EMS, transit and vanpools. The goal: Make transit more efficient for those working to reduce traffic during peak times.

  • Steel girders are set to arrive the last week of August, and erecting them will take about 10 days.

  • To date, crews have removed half of the concrete deck, and they will remove the rest next week.

  • Crews have removed and recycled approximately half of the steel girders from the old Grand Avenue Bridge.
  • Thank you to everyone for working together this past week. RFTA has been a big partner in making this detour run as smoothly as possible. See the RFTA website for bus routing up and down-valley.
