Traffic signal replacement in Boulder, Greeley

In mid-August, crews began removing and replacing outdated traffic signals, and installing new, safer signals at five intersections in Boulder.

The purpose of the project is to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians in those intersections as traffic in the region grows.

Traffic Impacts

  • Work is scheduled to begin the week of Aug. 14 and is expected to last through December 2017. Crews will work about 4-6 weeks in each intersection, following the schedule listed below:

    • Foothills Parkway (CO 157) and Baseline Road: start date of Aug. 14
    • Arapahoe Road (CO 7)and Cherryvale Road: start date of Aug. 14
    • Foothills Parkway (CO 157) and Valmont Road: start date of Sept. 4
    • Broadway (CO 93) and 27th Way: start date of Nov. 25
    • Arapahoe Road (CO 7)and 55th Street: start date of Oct. 23

    Normal working hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, in special cases, these hours may be extended, night work and weekend work may occur.

    Motorists should prepare for lane closures and lane shifts through the construction area. The speed limit may be reduced to 25 MPH in the construction zone when crews will temporarily remove the bike lanes.  Business driveways will maintain access through construction.
