US 287 and US 50 Resurfacing and Improvements in Lamar

24/7 Single Alternating Lanes

  • From 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., motorists traveling northbound and southbound on US 287, just south of Lamar, will encounter single lane closures. A pilot car will be used to assist motorists through the construction zone.
  • During non-working hours use of a temporary traffic signal will be in use on US 287.  Please obey all posted speed limits and use caution when traveling through the work zone.

About the Project

Construction will begin in March (not February). The project will include concrete pavement overlay, relocating roadway lighting, removing and replacing raised medians, storm sewer improvements, new signing and lighting and ADA curb ramp improvements.

US 287 is heavily used by motorists and freight drivers and has not been repaves since 2004. This project will improve safety by replacing crumbling roadway and raised medians, improving lighting, replacing aging signing, improve ADA curb ramps, and widen shoulders in some areas.
