Background

Rockfalls happen regularly in Clear Creek Canyon, ultimately causing closures, accidents, and roadway deterioration. This project aims to address these issues and reduce the overall impact of rockfalls in the canyon.

Before the 2018 summer shutdown of this project, crews removed roughly 35,000 tons of rock, and installed around 125,000 square feet of wire mesh and 125 mesh anchors.
