Please be advised of the following traffic impacts, restrictions and planned work for next week for the US 50 & CO 115 Roundabout project in Penrose, Fremont County.

Ongoing Traffic Impacts
Thursday, April 4 to Saturday, April 6 - southbound CO 115 - 24/7 lane closure, with alternating directions of traffic shifted into the northbound lane, managed by temporary traffic signals
- Tentative - Starting on Thursday, April 4, the southbound lane of CO 115 will be closed 24/7 within the project limits
- Implementation of the shift may extend into the week of April 7
- The closure will be managed by temporary signals
- The temporary signals have been placed at each end of the proposed roundabout area to manage alternating directions of traffic into the open (northbound) lane
- Construction barrier and devices are in place and caution is advised
- Working hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday
- The project limits on CO 115 extend from MP 12.76 to MP 14.01
- Flaggers, signs, and message boards are present to alert the public to closures and restrictions within the work zone
- Construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change
Work includes installing temporary traffic signals and temporary barrier, striping the roadway, and implementing the 24/7 traffic shift into the northbound lane.

Friday, April 5 to Saturday, April 6 - Eastbound US 50 off-ramp to CO 115 - 24/7 onsite detour
- Tentative - Starting on Friday, April 5, eastbound US 50 off-ramp traffic to CO 115 will be routed onto onsite detour pavement
- Implementation of the shift may extend into the week of April 7
- The detour will be in place 24/7 during construction of the roundabout
- Caution is advised as the new off-ramp will be shorter and require a sharp 90 degree turn
- No lane closures are expected on mainline eastbound US 50
- Working hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday
- The project limits on US 50 extend from Mile Point 289.50 to MP 289.84
- Traffic shifts, narrowed lanes and reduced speeds may exist later in the project
- Flaggers, signs and construction devices are present to alert the public to the work zone, closures and restrictions
- Construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change
Work includes final embankment building and placing road base for the off-ramp detour, asphalt paving, and implementing the shift.

General Impacts, Schedule & Scope of Work
- The project began on March 4 and has an anticipated completion date of late October
- Starting in early April, motorists can expect 24/7 lane closures on CO 115 during construction of the roundabout
- These 24/7 closures will begin on the southbound side, followed by the northbound side, managed by temporary signals
- The temporary signals will be installed on each end of the roundabout area to manage alternating directions of traffic into the open lane
- No immediate lane closures are expected on eastbound US 50
- An onsite temporary detour will be in place starting in early April from the eastbound US 50 off ramp to CO 115
- The project limits on US 50 extend from MP 289.50 to MP 289.84
- The project limits on CO 115 extend from MP 12.76 to MP 14.01
- Working hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday
- Working hours will be extended during the summer months
- This state funded project is designed to improve safety and traffic flow by adding a roundabout
- The roundabout will be on the south side of CO 115 and intersect with the on and off ramps of eastbound US 50
- No changes will be made to the westbound US 50 on and off ramps
- Other work includes adding a concrete island and truck apron, and installing curb and gutter, lighting, and traffic signs
- Roundabouts are proven to be a safer and more efficient method of traffic operations at certain intersections
- Construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change
