Ed Wood Presented with 2018 Traffic Safety Award

Traffic Safety Pulse - March 2019

Each year, the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility recognizes a select few people across the nation for their leadership in the fight against impaired driving. Ed Wood, the founder of DUID Victim Voices, was recently honored by the foundation for his tireless advocacy on behalf of victims while providing fact-based education to lawmakers and to the public. His work gives a voice to victims’ perspectives and seeks to enact lasting change on Colorado roadways and in communities. At a recent meeting of the Colorado Task Force on Drunk and Impaired Driving, CDOT presented the 2018 Kevin E. Quinlan Award for Excellence in Traffic Safety to Mr Wood.

This award honors the legacy of Kevin E. Quinlan. Over his 21-year tenure at the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), Kevin served as the Alcohol and Drug Program coordinator, chief of the Safety Division, and chief of the Safety Advocacy Division. He was a traffic safety pioneer and a mentor to countless traffic safety advocates.
