May Mobilization Enforcement Reaches Statewide Drivers and Passengers
This month, CDOT’s Click It or Ticket (CIOT) campaign is kicking off the May Mobilization enforcement period which focuses on enforcing seat belt use in lower usage counties across the state. The enforcement period will extend from May 20 to June 2 and include more than 35 agencies across the state. During the same enforcement period last year, 5,678 tickets were issued to drivers or passengers for not wearing their seat belt.
Along with the CIOT enforcement period, CDOT is expanding upon last year’s “Everyone Has a Reason to Buckle Up” campaign with the “What’s Your Reason” road trip video series. This travel-blog style video series captures stories from Coloradans about why they buckle up. The video team will collect interviews from Coloradans in Weld, Adams and El Paso counties, asking them why they choose to buckle up. Interviews will be conducted with local influencers in the regions, including elected officials, owners of local businesses and leaders of local institutions. The compilation of these videos aims to encapsulate the diversity of “reasons” Coloradans have for buckling up.
Advertisements will also be delivered statewide in May through gas station TVs, gas nozzle tops, gas stations and convenience store window clings, and on social media and YouTube advertisements. CDOT also developed radio ads for the campaign that will be aired across Colorado.
