Fiestas Patrias — Celebrating Responsibly
Traffic Safety Pulse News
On Sunday, September 8th, over 100,000 people gathered in Denver’s Civic Center Park to celebrate Fiestas Patrias, the most traditional celebration of Mexican Independence Day in the region, and join Mexican Consul General, Berenice Rendón Talavera, in the traditional “Grito de Dolores.”
With a day full of entertainment, food and cold beverages planned, it was the perfect location for CDOT to partner with Denver station KCEC-TV (Univision) and Lyft to remind festival-goers of the variety of tools available to avoid driving impaired, including designating a sober driver, using a BACtrack personal breathalyzer or taking advantage of ride-sharing.
