Green beer and lucky beads to promote the Heat Is On St. Patrick's Day enforcement periodAhead of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations across the state, CDOT and several partners are offering more than $7,000 in $10 Lyft ride credits to get Coloradans to and from their destinations safely. The code went live March 9 and can be redeemed statewide through March 23 at 11:59 p.m. This promotion is part of an extended partnership with Lyft and Responsibility.org, funded by a grant CDOT received from the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA).

CDOT will be at Jack Quinn’s Irish Pub in Colorado Springs on March 16 from 3-5 p.m. handing out shamrock-shaped Lyft credit passes, encouraging bargoers to plan a sober ride. El Paso County had 27 impaired driving fatalities in 2022, marking a 23% increase from the previous year. Numerous shamrock-shaped posters will also be scattered throughout the bar during the holiday weekend with festive, safe driving messages and the information to claim the Lyft code.

The recent Presidents Week enforcement period resulted in 317 arrests across 75 participating agencies. The next enforcement period is Spring Events, April 7-24. For more information on enforcement periods and arrest data, click here.
