• Double lane closures will exist in both directions of Ward Road under I-70 prior to the full closure, for crane setup
• The lane closures will be taken from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Starting at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 28 and lasting until approx. 6 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 29, both directions of Ward Road/CO 72 under I-70 will be fully closed, with detour signage in place
• A backup date of Monday, Jan. 29 will be in place in the event of inclement weather
• The project limits on Ward Road are from Mile Point 0 (W. 44th Ave) to MP .25 (just east of the I-70 interchange)
• No impacts to I-70 within the project limits will exist during this work
• The project limits on I-70 are MP 266.5 (Exit 266 - Ward Road) to MP 265 (Exit 265 - CO 58/Golden)
• The westbound I-70 Ward Road on and off ramps will also remain open, but no access will be permitted to/from W. 44th Ave 
• The closures are necessary to protect the traveling public, the construction crews, and the surrounding community
• The suggested detour routes to access westbound I-70 are: W. 44th Ave.to Youngfield St., and west to W. 40th Ave. to Clear Creek Drive to enter westbound I-70 at Exit 264 (Clear Creek Dr/32nd Ave) or north on Ward Road, east to the Frontage Road to Kipling (Exit 267)
• The detours will add approximately 2 miles and 5 minutes to travel times
• Uniformed traffic control personnel, variable message boards, signs and construction devices will be present to alert motorists to the closures
• Motorists can expect delays and alternate routes are advised
• All construction schedules are weather and supply dependent and subject to change
