CDOT to perform work at Camino del Rio and 12th Street crosswalk in Durango

February 26, 2024 - Southwestern Colorado - Motorists will encounter lane shifts and traffic delays Feb. 28 at the pedestrian crosswalk near River City Hall and Town Plaza

La Plata County — The Colorado Department of Transportation will perform electrical work this Wednesday at the pedestrian crosswalk located at Camino del Rio and 12th Street. Motorists are urged to be prepared for traffic delays along the Camino del Rio business corridor between 9th Street to the Main Avenue intersection.

The electrical work being performed is required in advance of the upcoming construction to take place at River City Hall by the City of Durango.

Traffic Impacts

Plan for traffic delays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wed., Feb. 28.

  • Expect lane closures and lane shifts
  • Traffic congestion can be expected
  • Motorists as well as pedestrians, are asked to seek an alternate route, if possible
  • Drivers are urged to watch for flaggers, workers and their equipment
  • Slow down and drive with extreme caution

  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
