Southwestern Colorado Winter Maintenance Alert ― Plan ahead!

January 7, 2024 - Southwestern Colorado - US 160 Wolf Creek Pass will close tomorrow morning for snow operations

Update - 7:50 a.m. (1/8) - Winter maintenance operations completed. Wolf Creek Pass opened just before 7:00 a.m.

Southwest Colorado — US Highway 160 Wolf Creek Pass will close beginning at 05:30 a.m. tomorrow (Mon., Jan. 8) while a CDOT crew conducts winter maintenance operations at snow slide areas. This is expected to be a lengthy closure of at least two hours. Eastbound traffic will be stopped at Treasure Falls (MP 157). Westbound traffic will be stopped near the pass summit and ski area (MP 167). 

The crew will work swiftly and safely to open the highway as soon as they are able. Be aware that closures on other highways and passes may occur at any time due to weather events and snow removal operations. Travelers are encouraged to frequently check COtrip.org for updates.
