US 40 Intersection improvements project is set to begin on April 15

Project Update

March 20, 2024 - Northeastern Colorado - Work will take place in town of Hugo

Lincoln County — The Colorado Department of Transportation will begin intersection improvement work on April 15 on two roadways, US Highway 40/287 and 3rd Avenue, in the town of Hugo. TLM Constructors is the contractor for this project.

The project will improve traffic flow for motorists and enhance pedestrian safety at crosswalks. Work will primarily consist of widening the south side of the intersection with concrete pavement for better truck turn movement, which will include inlet, sidewalk, curb and gutter and curb ramp. Work will be done in the eastbound lane for less than a mile stretch of US 40. A smooth road or highway has many important benefits, including safety and improved quality for the driving experience. A smoother surface also offers safer driving for motorists.
