Overnight road closures on US 6 west of Holyoke Sept. 4 to 5

Aug. 26, 2025 - Northeastern Colorado - Nightly detour will be in place during the closure

Holyoke — The Colorado Department of Transportation will have nightly closures on US Highway 6, west of Holyoke, for safety critical work that includes setting girders on the bridge structure that is being reconstructed.

US 385 at Mile Point 279 will be closed overnight on Thursday, Sept. 4 and Friday, Sept. 5, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 a.m., to allow crews to set bridge girders for the new structure to be built. The closure location is west of US 385 and east of County Road 37.

Detour Information

  • Westbound US 6 Detour: Head west on US 6, turn left on CR 35, turn right on CR 24, turn right on US 385 to reconnect with US 6, east of the closure
  • Eastbound US 6 Detour: Head east on US 6, turn right on US 385, turn left on CR 24, turn left on CR 35 to reconnect with US 6, west of the closure

  • Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
  • Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
  • Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
  • Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
  • Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
