US 40 / CO 13 Craig Signal Upgrades Project Complete
Travel Advisory
Craig — The Colorado Department of Transportation has completed traffic signal upgrade work at two intersections within the City of Craig limits. Sturgeon Electric was the contractor for the project.
At the intersection of Highway 40 (West 4th Street) and Ranney Street, upgrades include new pedestal poles with pedestrian push buttons and video detection equipment to improve traffic signal efficiency.
At the intersection of Highway 13 (Yampa Avenue) and 9th Street, upgrades include the replacement and reconstruction of the existing traffic signal, including installation of traffic signal equipment, pedestrian poles and push buttons, as well as updated ADA (Americans With Disabilities) curb ramps.
Traffic signal improvements are designed to improve traffic flow for motorists and enhance pedestrian safety at both intersections.
“These updated signals show our investment in continued traffic movement efficiency and effectiveness and the safety of not just the commuters on our roadways, but to the safety of the pedestrians who interact with those roadways,” said Jason Smith, Regional Transportation Director.
