I-25 closures at CO 7 for girder placement next week
Travel Advisory
Adams/Broomfield Counties – As part of the Colorado Department of Transportation’s Interstate 25 & Colorado Highway 7 Interim Mobility Hub project, I-25 will have the following overnight closures to install concrete girders for the new pedestrian bridge:
- Northbound I-25 at CO 7 – Monday, Dec. 8, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Southbound I-25 at CO 7 – Tuesday, Dec. 9, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Drivers can expect a single lane closure at 8 p.m., a double lane closure at 9 p.m., and a full closure of I-25 at 11 p.m. on both nights. Traffic then will detour around the closure via the CO 7 exit and entrance ramps (Exit 229). Slower traffic and delays should be expected. Traffic control personnel will be present to manage traffic flow and maintain safety on the ramps and CO 7. All lanes will reopen to traffic by 5 a.m.
In case of inclement weather, the work will be rescheduled for Dec. 10 and Dec. 11.
Closing I-25 at night allows the work zone to be expanded for the construction team and allows the traveling public to safely travel through the area.
Installing the girders is a milestone for this mobility hub project, which began in March 2025. Primary work includes adding a Park-and-Ride lot in the southeast quadrant of the interchange, constructing Bustang slip ramps, building a pedestrian bridge over I-25, and installing a permanent water quality pond. This hub will improve regional connectivity and mobility and provide more reliable transportation options and improve travel times.
The project is scheduled for completion in fall 2026.
