CDOT to close westbound US 50B at the I-25/US 50B Interchange
Travel Advisory
Pueblo — Motorists can expect a weekend closure of westbound US Highway 50B as the Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor partner, SEMA Construction, improve drainage by installing new pipes beneath westbound US 50B as part of the Interstate 25 and US 50B Interchange project. Westbound US 50B will be closed this weekend between Hudson Avenue/Bonforte Boulevard and I-25. This closure is necessary for the safety of the traveling public.
Traffic Impacts
For the weekend of Dec. 5 to 8, motorists can expect a closure of westbound US 50B from Hudson Avenue/Bonforte Boulevard to I-25. Traffic impacts will include:
- 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5, through 6 a.m., Monday, Dec. 8, expect a full closure of westbound US 50B from Hudson Avenue/Bonforte Boulevard for drainage pipe installation
- There will be no access to northbound I-25 from westbound US 50B at the interchange. A detour will be in place:
- Westbound US 50B to Northbound I-25 detour: Use Bonforte Boulevard and Jerry Murphy Road to travel north to CO 47, and travel west on CO 47 to access northbound I-25.

- Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
- Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
- Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
- Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
- Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
- Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
- Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
- Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
- Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
- Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
- Be patient!
