Weekend closure of CO 7 in Adams County for emergency culvert repairs

Travel Advisory

June 26, 2025 - Central Colorado - CO 7 to close between Colorado Boulevard and York Street the weekend of June 27, a detour will be in place. Update on June 27: Closure postponed until later in July.

Adams County — Colorado Highway 7 between Colorado Boulevard and York Street is scheduled to completely close to all traffic during a weekend later in July. It was scheduled to close the weekend of June 27, but postponed for crews to address other issues prior to the full closure.

The full road closure will be needed for crews to repair an old leaking siphon pipe located under the roadway. Water from the pipe is damaging the roadway from underneath and the work needs to be done as soon as possible to prevent further damage, which would cause safety issues. The work involves replacing the old pipe with a new one. During this work, the entire width of the roadway has to be closed for the safety of motorists.

The issue was discovered during the CO 7 Resurfacing Project from I-25 to Brighton Boulevard. The project’s contractor Asphalt Specialties will make the repairs under the oversight of CDOT.
