Work postponed: Weekend closure of CO 7 in Adams County for emergency culvert repairs

June 27, 2025 - Central Colorado - Full closure to be scheduled for a later date in July

Adams County — A full closure of Colorado Highway 7 between Colorado Boulevard and York Street will be scheduled for a later date in July. The closure was scheduled for the weekend of June 27 but postponed for crews to address other issues prior to the full closure.

Currently traffic is shifted away from the damaged pavement. For the latest lane closure information, go to COtrip.org.

The culvert issues were discovered during the construction of the CO 7 Resurfacing Project. The project’s contractor Asphalt Specialties will make the repairs under the oversight of CDOT.

The following tips are to help you stay safe while traveling through maintenance and construction work zones.

Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
Be patient!
