Fruita Welcome Center and restrooms close for renovations
Travel Advisory
Mesa County — The Colorado Department of Transportation will close the Fruita Welcome Center and restrooms located on Colorado Highway 340 for renovations beginning in June 2025.
The project, at Exit 19 off of Interstate 70, will consist of renovating the welcome center and rest area inside and out, along with adding two monument signs, a children's play area, and areas designed for photo opportunities.
The project is expected to be completed in February 2026.
The Western Slope Vietnam Memorial, several parking spots in the southwest portion of the lot, and the travel trailer/recreation vehicle grey and black water dump station will remain open and available to the public.
The welcome center and restrooms will be closed for the duration of the project.
