US 85 and US 34 nightly full closures begin Monday, May 5

May 2, 2025 - Northeastern Colorado - Different roadways, ramps closed each night

Greeley - Over the next two weeks, the Colorado Department of Transportation will have nightly roadway closures from Monday to Thursday on northbound US 85 and east- and westbound US 34 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to allow crews to install overhead signage.

Nightly Closure for May 5, May 14, and May 19:

  • Northbound US 85 and the eastbound US 34 ramp toward Cheyenne and Fort Morgan will be closed.
    • Detour: Turn left onto 31st Street and continue to turn right on to 11th Avenue, continue straight and turn onto eastbound US 34 towards northbound US 85 Business ramp.

Nightly Closure for May 6, May 13, and May 15:

  • Eastbound US 34 and northbound US 85 Business ramp toward 8th Avenue will be closed.
    • Detour: Turn right onto 11th Avenue to turn left on to 31st Street, continue straight to turn left on to 1st Avenue, continue to turn right onto East 28th Street and continue onto eastbound US 34.
  • Southbound US 85 ramp to eastbound US 34 will be closed.
    • Detour: Continue southbound on US 85 Business to turn right on to 31st Street, continue to turn right on to 11th Avenue, continue to turn right onto eastbound US 34.

Nightly Closure for May 7, May 8, May 10, May 11:

  • Westbound US 34 and northbound US 85 Business toward Greeley will be closed.
    • Detour: Take the northbound US 85 ramp to Cheyenne to 22nd Street, continue to turn left on to US 85 Business/8th Avenue and head towards westbound US 34 or southbound US 85 Business.
  • Northbound US 85 Business ramp to westbound US 34 will be closed.
    • Detour: Continue northbound on US 85 Business to turn left on 8th Avenue, continue to turn right on to westbound US 34.

Southbound US 85 Business will remain open.

The work schedule is weather-dependent and subject to change.

  • Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
  • Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
  • Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
  • Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
  • Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
  • Be patient!
