CDOT to close eastbound US 50B at the I-25/US 50B Interchange

Oct. 22, 2025 - Southeastern Colorado - Eastbound US 50B will be closed this weekend, Oct. 24 to 26

Pueblo — Motorists can expect a weekend closure of eastbound US Highway 50B as the Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor partner, SEMA Construction, improve drainage by installing new pipes beneath eastbound US 50B as part of the Interstate 25 and US 50B Interchange project. Eastbound US 50B will be closed this weekend between I-25 and Hudson Avenue/Bonforte Boulevard. This closure is necessary for the safety of the traveling public.

Traffic Impacts

For the weekend of Oct. 24 to 26, motorists can expect the closure of eastbound US 50 from I-25 to Hudson Avenue/Bonforte Boulevard. Traffic impacts will include:

  • Work will take place beginning at 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 24, through 7 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 26
  • There will be no access to eastbound US 50B from northbound I-25 at the interchange. A detour will be in place:
    • Northbound I-25 to US 50B detour: Travel to US 50B/CO 47 (Exit 101) off-ramp and travel east on CO 47 to access US 50
  • Southbound I-25 access to eastbound US 50B remains closed. Use CO 47 to detour

  • Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
  • Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
  • Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
  • Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
  • Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
