Full northbound closure planned on CO 157 (Foothills Parkway) between Valmont Road and CO 119 this weekend

Boulder - The Colorado Department of Transportation and its contract partner, ACME Concrete Paving Inc., will continue weekend closures on northbound Colorado Highway 157 for concrete rehabilitation operations. Motorists traveling northbound on CO 157 (Foothills Parkway) should plan for a full roadway closure between Valmont Road and Colorado Highway 119 throughout the weekend.
Full roadway closures are necessary to maintain the safety of motorists and the project team while decreasing interruptions to weekday travelers and commuters.
Traffic Impacts
Friday, April 24, through Monday morning, April 27.
- A single-lane closure will begin at 7 p.m. Friday evening on northbound CO 157 from Valmont Road to CO 119 followed by a full roadway closure at 9 p.m.
- The full closure will remain in place for the duration of the weekend before reopening at 7 a.m., Monday morning
- Northbound CO 157 travelers will be rerouted west on Valmont Road, north on 30th Street and east on CO 119 (Diagonal Highway)
- Eastbound motorists on Valmont Road seeking to access northbound CO 157 will be rerouted south on 47th Street, west on Pearl Street, north on 30th Street and east on CO 119 (Diagonal Highway)
- Westbound motorists on Valmont Road will follow the same 30th Street to CO 119 detour route
- Southbound lanes on CO 157 will remain open throughout the closure

Motorists traveling northbound on CO 157 and those using Valmont Road should expect up to 15-minute delays. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes over the weekend to avoid congestion.
Flaggers and uniformed traffic control officers will be on-site to assist with traffic flow. Drivers should slow down, watch for workers and equipment and maintain safe following distances.

- Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
- Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
- Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
- Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
- Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
- Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
- Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
- Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
- Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
