I-25 Closure at CO 7 for girder placement
Travel Advisory
Adams/Broomfield counties – As part of the Colorado Department of Transportation’s Interstate 25 and Colorado Highway 7 Interim Mobility Hub project, southbound I-25 is scheduled to be closed for one night this week. The closure is needed for crews to install girders for a new pedestrian bridge to be placed over the highway.
The work is scheduled from 10 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12 to 4 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13.
On southbound I-25 just north of CO 7, there will be single to double lanes closures from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., with a full closure at 10 p.m. Traffic will be directed around the closure via the CO 7 exit and entrance ramps (Exit 229). Slower traffic and delays should be expected. All lanes are scheduled to reopen to traffic by 4 a.m.
The closure will not impact northbound I-25. In case of inclement weather, the work will be rescheduled for Feb. 15.
The project, which began in March 2025, includes adding a Park-and-Ride lot in the southeast quadrant of the interchange, constructing Bustang slip ramps, building a pedestrian bridge over I-25 and installing a permanent water quality pond. This hub will improve regional connectivity and mobility and provide more reliable transportation options and improve travel times. The project is scheduled for completion in fall 2026.
