CDOT completes sign replacement project along I-70 and I-76
Travel Advisory
Jefferson, Arapahoe, Adams and Denver counties — Motorists have new and more visible signs to direct their travels along Interstates 70 and 76 in the Denver metro area. On March 12, the Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor CC Enterprises completed the sign replacement project.
The project replaced old signs with 44 new high-visibility signs along I-70 from Genesee near South Rooney Street to Byers near US Highway 36/Main Street. New signs are also in place along I-76 in Thornton at 96th Avenue.
“High-visibility signage is a fundamental safety feature on our roads,” said Regional Transportation Director Jessica Myklebust. “By replacing these signs with new, high-reflectivity panels, we are making it easier and safer for drivers to navigate the metro area, especially after dark or in poor weather conditions.”
The new overhead directional signs will increase lane awareness and have better reflectivity at night to help motorists navigate the highway safely.
