Nightly closures of the South Platte River Trail

The Platte River trail beneath US 6 will close nightly beginning Monday, June 9, lasting through Friday, June 13, from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. each night.

This closure is needed to accommodate additional work to reconstruct the US 6 Bridge over the South Platte River. The on-street detour route for cyclists riding south will be to use 7th Avenue, Bryant Street, 2nd Avenue, Tejon Street and Bayaud Avenue to reconnect with the trail. Cyclists going northbound will follow the same detour in reverse.

Additionally, these same nightly closures will pick up again during the nights of June 14 and June 16 while crews set girders on the US 6 Bridge over the South Platter River.
