Overnight closures of I-25 at US 6

Over the nights of Tuesday, June 17, through Friday, June 20, crews will set girders on the US 6 bridge over I-25. This work will require nightly closures of southbound I-25 and reduce northbound I-25 to one lane of travel near 6th Avenue.

The southbound closure will go into effect at 10 p.m. each night. Crews will begin closing lanes on I-25 at 8 p.m., however, so motorists should expect delays if traveling in this area. I-25 will reopen each morning by 5 a.m.

Southbound I-25 traffic will be directed to go west on US 6 to Federal Boulevard then south on Federal to 5th Avenue to enter eastbound US 6 and reconnect with southbound I-25. There could also be delays along eastbound US 6 near I-25 with additional traffic following this detour route.

Northbound I-25 will remain open, but traffic will be reduced to one lane of travel before being shifted into the southbound lanes to pass under the US 6 bridge.

Regional through traffic should avoid this area if possible by using C-470, I-225 and I-70 as alternate routes.
