CO 13 Mud Springs Draw Reconstruction

On Monday, April 17, 2017, crews began fulling reconstructing 2.4 miles of CO Highway (CO) 13 between Craig and Baggs, Wyo. Work is expected to ber completed by Nov. 17, 2017.

Project work includes:

  • realigning the roadway horizontally and vertically;
  • widening the roadway to include 8-foot paved shoulders;
  • installing three concrete box culverts;
  • replacing all existing culverts;
  • adding approximately two miles of snow fence on the west side of the highway, between mile points 118.8 and 122.4 (work to start after July 15, 2017);
  • replacing fencing;
  • asphalt paving;
  • signing;
  • striping; and
  • seeding.

Schedule

Normal working hours are from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some Saturday work possible for construction.


Travel & Other Impacts

  • Use caution while driving through the work zone.
  • Expect various alternating single-lane traffic and lane shifts.
  • Expect delays of about 10 to 30 minutes from one end to the other during working hours.
  • Crews will enforce a 10-foot width restriction for oversized loads during working hours.
  • The speed limit will vary based on work and road conditions.
  • The road surface will be gravel for an extended time during construction.
