CO 13 Widening & Reconstruction Near Craig

Starting in April 2019, crews will begin reconstructing and widening Colorado Highway 13 north of Craig in Moffat County, from mile points 115 to 121. Work includes:
- upgrading 70-year-old drainage structures;
- expanding driving lanes to 12 feet and paved shoulder to 8 feet;
- flattening side slopes;
- adding rumble strips for adverse weather conditions;
- improving the highway alignment to meet the 65 mph design speed and allow for better visibility;
- installing snow fence to prevent snow from drifting on the highway; and
- improving signage and striping.
Schedule & Traffic Impacts
- Work hours: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m., Monday through Friday
- Winter shutdown: November 2019 - April 2020
- Work begins at mile point 115 and continues to MP 121.
- Expect flaggers directing one-lane alternating traffic in both directions; 30-minute delay and a 35 mph speed-limit reduction.
