CO 391 Kipling & 48th Ave. Traffic Signal Replacement

 Project Complete!

In February 2021, CDOT and Interface Communications Co. will begin the Kipling (CO 391) and W. 48th Ave. traffic signal replacement project. This intersection is just south of Interstate 70. The project includes removal and replacement of four traffic signals and pedestrian ADA curb ramps. The project will update curb ramps to be ADA compliant, improve traffic flow at this intersection, add flashing yellow arrows, and brighten traffic signals. Work is expected to finish by the end of April or early May.

Proposed Work Schedule

  • Minimal delays to traffic are anticipated, with the majority of work expected to take place on weeknights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Daytime work will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Work is expected to be completed by the end of April/early May.

Traffic Impacts

  • Weekday day & night single lane closures and shoulder closures on eastbound on & off-ramps.
  • Sunday through Thursday nighttime single lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. at MP 9.2 to 9.6 on Kipling St.
  • Sunday through Thursday nighttime shoulder closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Kipling St.
  • Periodic daytime single lane closures and shoulder closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Flagging operations when erecting steel and to ensure pedestrian safety during the course of construction.
