Weekly Traffic Impacts & Work Update


Traffic Impacts - Week of Oct. 29 to Nov. 4

 

Please be advised of the following lane closures, restrictions and planned work for next week for the I-70 over 32nd Avenue Bridge Replacement project in Jefferson County. Substantial project completion is expected by early November.

Monday, Oct. 30 to Wednesday, Nov. 1 - both directions of I-70 - overnight single & double lane closures 

  • Single lane closures will be taken nightly on both westbound and eastbound I-70 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Wednesday
  • These single lanes will switch to double lane closures in both directions of I-70 at 9 p.m. and last until approx. 6 a.m. each morning, as needed
  • The double lane closures will alternate left to right, as needed
  • Late lane reopenings are possible and delays are expected
  • The project limits on I-70 extend from Mile Point 263 to MP 265
  • Single to double lane closures on westbound I-70 will also run concurrently during overnight hours with the I-70 over Ward Road Bridge Replacement project which has limits from Exit 265 to Exit 266 (see Nearby Project Impacts below for specific details)
  • Motorists can expect longer than usual delays on westbound I-70 due to overnight lane closures in adjacent work zones
  • All schedules are weather dependent and subject to change
Work includes guardrail patching and staining, shoulder work, and seeding the median.

  • Various lane closures will be in place from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Wednesday in both directions of 32nd Ave under I-70 
  • Single lane closures may exist before 7:30 a.m. and after 4 p.m., as needed
  • Some Saturday work is expected
  • All schedules are weather dependent and subject to change

Nearby Project Impacts


 I-70 over Ward Road Bridge Replacement
  • A full closure of Ward Rd/CO 72 under I-70 can be expected within the next week or two during demolition of the westbound I-70 over Ward Road bridge structure
  • Notifications will be sent out once dates are confirmed
  • During this full closure, detour signage will exist to route motorists to W. 44th Ave. to enter westbound I-70 at Clear Creek/32nd Ave
  • Other detour routes do exist
  • The project limits on I-70 extend from MP 265 to MP 266.5
  • No impacts to I-70 or the westbound I-70 ramps will be in place during the demolition and closure of Ward Road
  • Periodic overnight single to double lane closures will exist Sunday to Thursday on westbound I-70 within the project limits
  • These overnight closures on I-70 will be in place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Intermittent daytime and overnight lane closures will be taken in both directions of Ward Road/CO 72 under the I-70 bridges Monday to Friday
  • The closures on Ward Road will exist from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday, and overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed 
  • All construction schedules are weather and supply dependent and subject to change
Work includes preparing to remove the westbound I-70 over Ward Road bridge.
