ADA Ramp Upgrades in the Pueblo Metro Area

Project Complete!

Late September, 2020, the Colorado Department of Transportation will begin work on ADA curb ramp improvements with the installation of ADA compliant curb ramps at various locations along Colorado Highway 45, CO 47, CO 96, and CO 78 throughout Pueblo.

This project is a part of CDOT’s 2017, Curb Ramp Accessibility Initiative to bring all curb ramps in alignment with the ADA and PROWAG standards over the next five years.

Curb ramps are required to be in place at every intersection where and accessible route crosses a curb to allow access to crosswalks for people with disabilities. Once these ramps are in place, their maintenance is critical to safely enable accessibility.

The project is located at several intersections throughout Pueblo. As the project progresses information for each corridor will be updated on the website. Corridors include:

Phase 1: CO 96 @ Wilson Ave. heading west to CO 96 @ Floyd Ln.

Phase 2: Elizabeth St. @ Ridge Dr. heading south to Eagleridge and the I-25 on/off ramps

Phase 3: Frontage Rd. heading south to West 29th

Phase 4: West 29th and Frontage Rd. heading east to West 29th and I-25 on/off ramps

Phase 5: Patty Dr. @ Elizabeth St. heading south then west to CO 50 and Wills Blvd.

Phase 6: CO 45 heading south at various sites

Phase 7: CO 47 at Jerry Murphy Rd and CO 50 at Hector Garcia Rd.
